Hard Walk to a Feathered Bed: Your Journey to Holistic Wellness
Hi, I’m Kris Crow, and I’m so glad you’re here! This blog, Hard Walk to a Feathered Bed, is dedicated to helping women like you cultivate a life of true wellness – mind, body, and spirit. I believe that real wellness isn’t just about the number on the scale; it’s about feeling empowered, balanced, and confident in all areas of your life. It’s about taking the sometimes hard walk towards the comfort and peace of a feathered bed – a metaphor for achieving your wellness goals.
My Story:
My own journey to wellness has been a winding road, filled with its share of challenges and triumphs. Through those experiences, I discovered the powerful connection between mental, physical, and financial health. I realized that true well-being comes from nurturing all three. That’s what inspired me to create this space – to share what I’ve learned and empower other women to prioritize their holistic wellness. It’s also what sparked my interest in natural approaches to wellness, from the power of herbs and essential oils to the simple joy of gardening and creating my own self-care products.
My Passion/Focus:
Here at Hard Walk to a Feathered Bed, we’ll explore practical ways to nourish your mind through self-care practices, cultivate a strong and healthy body with yoga and effective workouts, and build a foundation of financial stability. We’ll delve into topics like self-love, setting healthy boundaries, building fulfilling relationships, and taking control of your finances. But we’ll also explore the natural world and its gifts. We’ll discuss incorporating herbs and essential oils into your daily routine, the art of crafting your own soaps and teas, the benefits of meal prepping for healthy eating, the joy of gardening, and how all these elements contribute to a holistic approach to wellness. My goal is to provide you with the tools and inspiration you need to create a life you truly love – a life that feels as comfortable and nurturing as a feathered bed.
My Voice/Personality:
I’m a firm believer in keeping things real and relatable. I’m passionate about sharing evidence-based information in an approachable way, sprinkled with a bit of humor and a whole lot of encouragement. This isn’t about perfection; it’s about progress. We’ll celebrate small wins and learn from setbacks, together. And we’ll explore the world of wellness in a way that feels accessible and empowering, not intimidating.

Best Food Practices
Organic is great, but not Necessary
01
Getting started is hard enough
Start with the basics. What does your body need besides water and exercise? The answer is “REAL FOOD”. Bust out the knife set and save all the leftovers. Don’t be afraid to add extra powders to your meals for additional nutrients …shhhhh, I won’t tell.
02
Keep it simple.
What does your family like to eat, that you can make with less than 10 ingredients? Do not try to become Gordon Ramsay in your first week. Trust me. Ten recipes can be alternated for one month. (3 of each meal) Meal Prepped into freezer bags and done.
03
Keep notes
Does the family like the meals? Put them in a recipe book or on your computer for later to build out your own personal family cookbook.
